Tips in Perfecting the Punk Halloween Costumes Look
Halloween is fast approaching, and this is the ultimate time to show your wild side. Nowadays, Halloween costumes need not be scary or ghoulish. In fact, many people get in touch with their creative side to dress as their favorite cartoon character, their favorite movie star, and other famous personalities, whether fiction or nonfiction, dead or alive.
If you’re out of ideas with what to wear this Halloween, then try dressing as a punk rocker and rock the night away! Punk Halloween costumes are very easy to make and complete. There are even some Halloween costume stores where you can buy the whole punk rocker get-up. This way, you don’t have to worry about creating the whole look by yourself. But if you want to be unique and creative, then you can also choose to do it by yourself. All you need is the right clothes, the right hair and makeup, the right accessories, and of course, the right attitude.
The color black is the staple in most punk Halloween costumes. But don’t overdo it, or you’ll come off as gothic. Just pair it off with another color, and mix and match. For women, the perfect outfit for a punk get-up is a plaid, pleated mini-skirt. Wear a cute black shirt with it, and a hot pink necktie to complete the look. Wear black fishnet stockings, and add rips and holes if them if you want to.
For men, you can wear a black shirt or a t-shirt of your favorite punk band. Match it with plaid jeans, or black ones. Baggy pants and well-worn jeans will also do. Add rips and wholes to complete the look.
For shoes, both women and men can wear black mid-shin or high boots, combat boots, or high-cut sneakers.
Now that you’ve got the outfit from top to bottom, your hair is next in the list of punk Halloween costumes look. Go wild and experiment with color. Pink, purple, orange, and blue are some colors that work. You can even dye your hair in two tones. If you don’t think you want something so permanent, you can use temporary hair color, or colored wigs.
Makeup is the next step. Lots of black is again, the main theme in your makeup. Use pale foundation and line your eyes with thick, black eyeliner. Pile on dark eye-shadow, and black lipstick. Also color your nails with black nail polish.
Accessories are something you can’t go without in completing the punk Halloween costumes look. Some punk accessories include wide choker necklace, studded dog collar, belt charms, hip chain, billfold with chain, cuffs, wrist bands, large belt buckle and lots of rings in your ears, nose, eyebrow, lip, or wherever. Real or fake tattoos are also an accessory you want to try.
Remember, Halloween is the day when you can go crazy with your costume and no one would mind. So, experiment and be creative in making your punk Halloween costumes, and live out the punk rocker in you!
