Creative Group Halloween Costumes
Creative group Halloween costumes can be very hard to come up with. Dressing up together is highly rewarding though, and worth every minute effort that goes into it. There’s nothing like a big group picture of everyone dressed up in themes headed to a party. Everyone in the group always gets tons of attention from people commenting on the costumes and how it all come together.
So without further ado, we’re here to present some starter costume ideas for you!
First, we’ve all seen a lone zombie walking around on Halloween. But how about a horde of angry zombies, each of them terrorizing the area and screaming for brains? It’s like a horror film come true! The zombie costumes can be made on the cheap by cutting up strips of white sheet, and wrapping them around the arms, legs, torso, and head of the zombies-to-be. Pin them in place with hidden safety pins, and dress the bandages with fake blood. It’s a very cheap way to create a horde of angry zombies to take over the city. To take this a step even further, you could designate one person of the group to be the “hunted” (or the hunter, depending on the scenario), or the victim. This person could be dressed in battle gear, armed to the tooth with toy chainsaws and shotguns. You guys can even put on a mock show of the human trying to defend himself from the hoards of the undead. This is guaranteed to attract tons of attention and positive complements from friends, family, and party guests! The “victim” can even tear some of his or her clothes, put on fake bandages, and smear some fake blood over his clothes to pretend to have had a couple “close encounters” with the living dead.
You could all dress up as different colored pool balls. One person could be the 8 ball, the other the cue ball (white), and the other members of the group could be random pool balls within the number / marking system of billiards. The most difficult part here is actually tracking down the pool balls to use for the costumes. You may have to look around several places, or even place an order on the internet ahead of time. The pool ball costumes may also end up being very hard to transport from point A to point B. If you all are pool fans however, it’s all worth while in the end!
The group could all dress up in camouflage with realistic looking toy military guns (toy M16’s and the like), and pretend to be an army troop. You can carry walkie talkies all turned on, attached to your belt, for the radio chatter. You can all take turns calling in air strikes, radioing for backup, etc. so there is always a constant chatter of military sounds coming from your radios. Military boots are a must to finish this costume off, and any other gadgets that make it look more realistic are a plus (canteens, compasses, maps, grenades, etc.).
With these simple ideas, you’ll be on your way to some creative group Halloween costumes!
